Full Service Hospital

We recommend that all of our patients have a thorough examination at least once per year.  During each visit, we discuss any health concerns you might have and can offer consultation on behavior and nutrition.

If your pet needs additional care, our hospital is equipped to provide complete diagnostic and therapeutic services.  We have an in-house diagnostic lab, digital x-ray services, and state of the art equipment for anesthesia and surgery.  We utilize digital dental x-rays and the same dental hygiene equipment you would find at your own dentist’s office.  What really sets us apart, however, is the attention we give to each patient while they are in our care!

Surgical Services:  Our experienced veterinarians perform a wide variety of soft tissue surgical procedures.

Anesthesia:  We utilize progressive anesthesia protocols, modern monitoring equipment, and focused and knowledgeable staff to provide the safest possible anesthesia to our patients.

Radiology Services:  Our on-site digital X-ray equipment provides high-quality radiographs to aid in the diagnosis of many disorders.  We can send our digital images to be reviewed by a board-certified radiologist.

Electrocardiography Services:  We provide ECG services for on-site review and cardiologist consultation.

Dentistry:  During each oral care visit, we clean above and below the gum line using a thorough, multi-step process.  A detailed oral exam is then performed on each tooth (that’s 42 for an adult dog, 30 for an adult cat!).  We inspect the cheeks, lips, tongue, and throat for any abnormalities.  We obtain digital dental radiographs so we may assess the health of the tooth roots and surrounding facial bones.  If your pet needs additional care, our veterinarians are experienced in treating periodontal disease and performing oral surgery like tooth extraction and oral mass removal.

Laboratory:  Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for blood testing, urinalysis, and cytology. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations.

Permanent identification: We offer microchip implantation.

Pharmacy:  We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products, and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry a full line of therapeutic prescription diets.

Parasite Prevention Programs:  Parasites can live inside the body (like gastrointestinal parasites in the stomach and intestines or heartworms within the blood stream) and on the surface of your pet (like fleas, ticks, mites, and lice).  We will review with you the best ways to control parasites in your house, in your yard, and on your pet.

Dietary Counseling:  We will provide guidance regarding your pet's nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance, or weight reduction.

Behavioral Counseling:  We can provide advice regarding the correction of problems such as excessive barking, chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, house soiling and aggression.

Bathing:  Routine and therapeutic bathing services are available.

Referral Services: We are fortunate to have an abundance of experienced veterinary specialists in the Columbus area.  These veterinarians have completed years of additional training and board certification in areas like cardiology, dermatology, internal medicine, ophthalmology, and behavioral medicine.  If your pet could benefit from the expertise of a specialist, we will gladly help to arrange your referral.

Emergency Care:  If your pet experiences an emergency, please call our office to see if we can help.  During times we are unavailable, please see our list of recommended emergency care providers on the homepage.
